A vocation
is a two-fold adventure, which begins with the call of the Master and is
further enhanced by the response of the servant. “You did not choose me,
but I chose you and I appointed you to go and bear fruit— fruit that
will last.” There are certain individuals whom God sets apart from the
world, to fulfill a certain purpose, a unique mission. This call is a
life totally dedicated to serving the Lord with an undivided heart. “I
will draw her out into the wilderness, and there I will speak to her
heart.” Hosea 2:16
" Is God calling me to religious life? " That's a question every
Catholic must answer. Not all will answer "yes "; for most the answer
truly is "No, I'm called to marriage ". But the question deserves some
thought, some prayer, some reflection for it concerns the whole
direction of one's life. We ask Our Lady, Maris Stella, to give
light to all those who seek God's Will in their lives. If you would like to know more about our
Order or
would like to ‘come and see’ please feel free to contact us.

"And so, today with great
strength and conviction,
on the basis of long personal experience of
life,
I say to you, dear young people:
Do not be afraid of Christ!
He
takes nothing away, and He gives you everything.
When we give ourselves
to Him,
we receive a hundredfold in return.
Yes, open, open wide the
doors to Christ-
and you will find true life."
-Pope Benedict XVI

The
Love of Jesus
Sister
Margaret Mary
of the
Sacred Heart of Jesus

Jesus, the Lord of the Universe called me. He took the
first step in showing His Love for me.
While I was studying for my diploma in teaching I used to pray
at night. It was during these times of silence that I realized
that the Lord wanted me to dedicate myself entirely to Him. But
I had no courage to answer so generously. I feared my own
weaknesses. So I told the Lord, ‘I’m most willing, but I fear my own weakness.'
In the middle of the same year, a young man wanted to marry me.
He was handsome and had a good job, but I told him "No, I want
to finish my studies and work for awhile." He said that he would
wait for me, as long as needed. But I said "no" again.
During the second year of studies, there was a student gathering
one evening with a powerful time of prayer. This was conducted by a Sacred Heart
brother. It was during this night that my response to Jesus rose
up from the depths of my heart and I found myself saying: “I’m
ready”, “I’m ready.” That's all. After that, my life changed
completely.
After receiving my diploma, I wanted to enter the monastery, but
my family was opposed. My father was afraid that monastic life
would be too hard for me because I had frail health as a child
and was spoiled like a princess by my four brothers. One day,
one of my brothers took me to see the parish priest. I became
frustrated with his many questions. In the middle of the second
day of interrogation, I said to him, "Even if you were to offer me
the whole world, I would choose nothing but Jesus". He was
touched by my words. All at once he stopped interrogating me,
and he and my brother started looking for a monastery for me. He
had heard a religious sister in his parish speak of our
monastery in Vellore. They took me there. In the Chapel I knelt
before the Most Blessed Sacrament, and I knew in my heart that I was
home.
Yes, I found my love; I am all His
and I'm so happy!
